We all might remember or know of the Malvern Star Dragster produced by Malvern Star. The Malvern Star company made these bicycle dragsters from the late 1960’s all the way through until the start of the 1980’s.
The Dragster range of bicycles came in many colours, with mudguards, chrome chain guard, and ape hanger handle bars. They were very much like the lowrider bicycles of today, but without spring forks and the low look.
What the dragster did have that was different, was a gear shifter on the top tube of the frame.
On 25th September 2009, Australia Post printed a set of stamps called “Classic Toys”. There were 5 stamps in the series, one of them printed was a purple Malvern Star Dragster.
