Here you will find a basic outline and introduction to what Cruiser, Low-Rider and Chopper bicycles are all about.
CRUISER
What is a cruiser you may ask?
The word cruiser can mean many things but what we are talking about is the cruiser bicycle also known as the beach cruiser. These bicycles have fat tires most of the time, which are also known as balloon tires, Most of them are single speed or 3 speed internal hubs. Being made of steel makes the cruiser frame very strong in both the womens and the mens style of frame. Sitting in a upright posture you can cruise all day.
As with most bicycles there are many makes and models, Some of them are Electra, Johnny Loco Bicycles, Phat Cycles, Nirve, Shire Bicycles, Kustom Kruiser Sixthreezero, Aero-Fast and many more. Most bicycle manufacturers have a cruiser style on offer.
LOWRIDER
Characteristics of a Lowrider bicycle are usually a banana seat, sissybar, over spoked wheels, tall handle bars and front spring forks to give it that low look.
These bicycles can be highly customized with twisted forks, velvet seats, and even hydraulic air suspension. Some can be changed into tricycles with a tricycle conversion kit.
Most lowrider bicycles are 20″ wheel size but there are some 26″ wheel size available. Some lowrider manufacturers are Aztaln, Chain Gang Lowrider and LowBikes.
CHOPPER
The characteristics of a chopper bicycle usually consists of extended forks creating a long front end or rake. Some have a larger fatter wheel at the back and smaller skinnier wheel at the front, It can also be around the other way with smaller wheel at the back and larger wheel at the front.
Again with the large taller handle bars and sitting in a low position, it gives you a smooth ride and a lot of attention.
