Review – Michelin Rack Bag

In this article we are going to be looking at the Michelin Rack bag. To start with, the bag arrived in good condition and I even saw an assembly note on top on how to put it onto the bike rack.

The bag is a water resistant, rigid structure and it says it has two extra pockets. We will look for them later. Its volume is 4 litres, and size is about (32cm/12 inches) long, (18cm/7 inches) wide, and (12cm/5 inches) deep.

Most of the pockets and the lid are held down by the Velcro, at the end of the bag. It has a handle for carrying which would be great if you were using it for commuting. On top and up front is the tab that you pull on to open up the lid, which goes from front to back. On top you have elastic pull tie and netting to put paper or anything you need in a hurry. Under the bag you have the quick release clips to fit it to your rack.

Inside the bag we have those two pockets which are on the sides and these are made of netting fabric as well. The base of the bag has a plastic insert to keep the bag shape and that is coved by a piece of fabric so it makes ease to clean the inside.

Putting it onto the bike was very easy. I found the assembly note was spot on with what it said. The bag sits on the bike snug and tight. It seems you could put the bag around the other way having the lid open from the front of the bike to the back, but if your seat is low the lid would hit it. Another thing by doing this is that the safety reflector will be covered and you will not been seen in the dark.

Some dislikes that I found was that the bag is the wrong colour. It should have been yellow or a “be seen” colour. Also since the lid is held down by three bits of Velcro pieces, two on the side and one at the front, I found it hard to open just by pulling the tab at the front even after I have released the side ones. They seem to catch again.

I give this bag 8/10.
