Welcome!
Welcome to the BicycleWA web site. A Western Australian web site for cycling, with an emphasis on cycle touring. This web site is put together by cyclists in between our riding and touring times.
Here at BicycleWA, We go the distance! We recommend that you have a read then load your panniers up, load them onto your bike and go off and explore.
We ride for enjoyment, not fitness. Go touring - no fancy dress needed!
¿Este Web site tiene una versión española? ¡No todavía! Estoy aprendiendo español y después lo traduciré.
This Month's Tip
When riding along a road that descends down a steep hill or mountain, ALWAYS GIVE WAY to other vehicles that do not have any brakes!
Has petrol gone up too much for you? Buy a Bicycle!
Latest Web Site News.
We are in the process of slowly updating our web site design and adding facilities to add better maps for showing touring route information.
What's Popular on the BicycleWA web site?
These are some of the most popular articles on the web site:
Touring with a Toilet - That age old question when on tour on a bicycle, especially in Australia's out back. Where do I go to the toilet? Due to the lack of public toilets available in out back areas, we have had to engineer a solution. It's finally finished, and now you can Tour In Style.
Presta vs Shrader Valves - Fit both - The old Shrader valve versus Presta Valve debate. We show you how to fit two tubes. Now you can have one of each!
Review - BOB IBEX - This is a review of the BOB Ibex trailer which is much the same as the BOB Yak trailer. The major difference with the Ibex is that it has a rear spring. It also sits higher than the Yak, and has two extra water cage mountings, giving a total of four cage mountings. It is designed for off road riding.
Why tour in WA?
Our facilities are excellent. Even our picnic shelters have fan cooling. This is the picnic area north of Eneabba on the Brand Highway which has a fan to keep you cool on those hot days.
Also out the back from this fan cooled sheltered picnic area is an enviro dunny. What more do you need?
