Caribee Roadrunner Bag

I just thought that I would write to tell you about a bag that I found recently that is excellent when on the bike. I have been looking for awhile and trying different things like backpacks and small bumbags and sling bags but each had problems such as size, heat collection, discomfort and unwieldlyness (like my big word?). Then I found this bag, the Caribee Roadrunner bum bag on the internet.

I bought it with postage for about 45 dollars and was pleased that the item was even better than its picture. It has a wide racheting waist strap with a generous amount of strap supplied each side of the buckle and is adjustable for varying sized people. This is good as I like to wear it on my hips not my waist. The buckle is quite big and thick and I would regard it as heavy duty even though it is plastic.

The bag when filled with all my day to day junk expands to about the size of a Basket ball, a slightly oval shaped basket ball, maybe a big football.

There are two compartments to the main bag both running the full length of the bag and they also have tightening straps either side to streamline the shape. The front has reflective strips and the zip on the back pocket has a covering on the zip presumably to protect it against the weather, or excessive sweat off of your back.

To the right is a padded water bottle bag with an elastic tightener cord so you can lock the bottle down. So far it has held securely every shaped bottle that I have put in it, either full, empty or in between, it makes no difference.

On the other side is a separate small cylinder bag with a top that zips closed just below the top. I'm not sure what this was intended for but my phone, a packet of bandaids and a pen fit comfortably.

If you have ever seen a weight belt, the part of the bag that rests against your back is shaped similar to this so that the weight of all my junk is spread across the small of my back and not in a thin tight line. The material used on the rear is a kind of air cell webbing that seems to keep the heat and sweat from becoming too irritating (don't ask me I don't know what its called). Lastly there is a handle attached to the top of the back of the bag just for convenience I suppose, but it is handy. That also is heavy strapping.

All the parts of the bag are padded and lined and all of the stitching seems strong and regular with no visible weak spots. I am very happy with it. I would definately recommend it to anybody, especially to commuters and mums to replace hand bags and backpacks. Below are pics of my hubby modelling it so you can see it on someone.
