Racks
Delta Front Racks on Suspension Forks - Many people are now using mountain bikes and hybrid style bikes for touring. Many of these are now fitted with front suspension forks, and unless the fork is fitted with lugs for racks, many people tour without front panniers, which puts a bigger load on the rear wheel.
Tubus Tara - My front touring rack on a fixed fork bike was an el cheapo special made of aluminium that had to be modified to fit and flexed when I loaded full panniers onto it, so I brought a Tubus Tara front rack to replace it.
Topeak Disk Brake Super Tourist Rack - Having just recently purchased a disk brake mountain bike, I needed a decent rack for the rear to hang my panniers on.
Others
Air Zound 3 - Air Horn. Many people often stop me and ask me what the bottle is, that is fitted in the third water cage on my bicycle. Unfortunately on my bike, the third cage can't be used for much else.
Vetta V100 Wireless Speedo - This is a review of the Vetta V100 wireless speedo with temperature. It can even display the temperature. This was the only thing I could find that was good about it. The reason that it is not on my bike is that after testing it, I removed it.
Baskets that attach to the front of a bicycle are handy for putting loose items in and are useful for short rides on smooth surfaces. They are also harder to find and I had to take a trip to BicycleWA headquarters to locate some.
Malvern Star Transrack - After the last article that I did on a bicycle shop, whilst I was there I ended up buying a bicycle rack to be fitted to a car. This rack is called a "Transrack" made by Malvern Star. It comes in two versions. A three bicycle version and a four bicycle version. I am writing this article about the three version type.
Topeak Road Morph Pump - I have had the Topeak Road Morph pump for several years now and apart from the pressure gauge reading incorrectly when it's not plugged into anything, I have not had any problems with it. I don't think the gauge is wrong, it just won't go back down to zero. It stops at 20. When I pump a tyre up to 80 psi and check it with another pressure gauge it is correct.
Vision Stick - Rechargeable Lights - I got sick of running into things in the dark when riding, so when I was in the Bike shop I noticed they had a sale on of Vision Stick rechargeable lights. I was lucky to get a pair as one of the lights had a globe and seal missing. They supplied a globe, so I walked away with two batteries, the water cage holder for the batteries, two chargers, one high beam light and a low beam light, all for the price of one.
Midget Solo Bushtrekka - This is a sneak preview of the Midget Solo Bushtrekka, an Australian designed bicycle camper trailer.
Trekking Bars - Guess who got a new set of handlebars? After being sick of riding on a bike with flat bars and bar ends, I needed somewhere else to put my hands.
Zefal Cyclops Mirror - If you commute, tour or ride just for fun, you need to be able to see into the past (what''s behind you).
Slime in your tubes! - You may have heard the term "Put some slime in your tubes"!. You can actually buy bicycle tubes with the slime already in them.
