Shimano Cycling Sandals
I never thought that I would ever be able to find a pair of Shimano cycling sandals. While the shop had no cycling shoes to fit me, they did have a pair of sandals that were my size (the only pair they had). These sandals use an SPD cleat. I fitted a multi release cleat and now I can ride in sandals.

You can either ride in bare feet and the sandals, or with socks. I'm not too fashion conscious, so I sometimes ride in socks, even different color ones. If you've never ridden in sandals before, you must remember to put sun protection on your feet and lower legs.
Riding with the sandals on, I found that there is some slight flex in the sandal's sole if you pull up on the pedals. I don't normally ride by pulling the pedals up so this is not an issue for me. I did it to test the sole's flexibity.

I have had one problem with my sandals and that is that the steel plate inside the sole did move on one sandal and I only noticed it by the fact that I was getting dead feet. After shifting the plate back and mounting the cleats to the rear holes, this problem seems to have fixed itself.
These sandals are the ultimate touring accessory. You can wear them casually as well as ride in them. With a dual platform pedal you can ride either with the cleats engaged or flip the pedal over and ride on the standard platform without using the cleats. I give these sandals a 10 out of 10.
