Trekking Bars

Guess who got a new set of handlebars? After being sick of riding on a bike with flat bars and bar ends, I needed somewhere else to put my hands. I looked at drop bars (racing style, upside down bull horns) but it would mean changing my brake and gear levers to fit them.

So where do you put your hands when on tour? Check this out!

In order to be able to fit mirrors, a bell, light and still have room for my hands I brought a pair of trekking bars. These bars are excellent. They are also known as "euro bars" and are available in Australia as manufactured by BBB.

The brake levers and gear shifters from the flat bars fitted perfectly. I also stuck a pair of bar ends on the end of the bars that bend forward. This allows me to fit a mirror and while riding I can lean forward and rest my hands on the bar ends. This allows me to stretch my back.

So if you need more hand positions on the handlebars I highly recommend these bars.
