Vetta V100 Wireless Speedo
This is a review of the Vetta V100 wireless speedo with temperature. As can be seen in the photograph, this speedo can even display the temperature. This was the only thing I could find that was good about it. The reason that it is not on my bike is that after testing it, I removed it.

The speedo has two parts. The speedo itself and it's base. There is a separate part that attaches to the front fork, which is the sender unit. Being wireless, this requires a battery as well.
When I first fitted the speedo, I could not get a signal from the sender unit. There is too much metal on my bike, so I had to move the speedo to a different position and shift the sender unit further up the front forks.

I then went for a ride to test it and found that the speedo has plenty of functions including settings for two bikes. It shows all of the common functions that are available on other speedos, and the temperature.
I found the temperature function very useful and the buttons on the unit itself very easy to operate. I could switch between elapsed distance, elapsed time and current time and speed.
I did find out that the wireless sender is a pile of junk. Riding under high voltage power lines interfered with the readings and I got all sort of bizarre speed readings. I suspect the mobile phone may also have been affecting it. The battery in the wireless sender lasts about a month, and I am still trying to figure out how to remove the cap to get the old battery out.
I have tried to prise it out and turned the cap but still to no avail. The hammer is probably the only means left of getting the battery cap off. I did go back to the shop where I brought it and they offered to exchange it, but he said they all had the same problem, which is why they are not selling them anymore.
I decided to keep it, as I plan to mount the head unit to the bike and use the thermometer function. If the battery goes flat on my other speedo, I can remove the battery.
For the speedo's functions, I give it an 8 out of 10, but for the wireless sender unit and it's operation, I give it a 0 out of 10.
