Dongara to Geraldton
This ride can be hard if heading south into the afternoon sea wind. Heading North should give you a really good tail wind.
Dongara
Dongara is a town and has road houses, shops and caravan park.
About 35 kms north of Dongara, if you have a look at the map, the road looks like a giant S bend. The road takes a sudden sharp bend to the right when heading north.
As the road bends to the right, on the left about 500 metres from the road is a caravan park and petrol station. Their drinking water is tank water, and they may not always have water, (as was the case when I was there) so you may need to purchase water at their store.

Greenough
When heading north, the historic hamlet of Greenough is on the right. The southern end of Greenough has a picnic area, and a small cafe nearby. There is a tap in the picnic area.
The water fountain in Greenough.
Yes it's so windy all of the time, the trees are permanently bent.
If heading south, be prepared to experience some fierce headwinds on this road in the afternoon. The other thing to be aware of is the road trains on this road. Whilst the shoulder was wide, the head wind was a problem.
Every time an oncoming road train passed, the wind blast would attempt to rip the helmet off of my head. Road trains passing in the same direction as myself, caused the bike to gain an extra 15 kms in speed but I had to be aware of the bike being pulled towards the extra trailers of the road train.
Next Part
The next leg of the route is Geraldton to Northhampton.
